Medical Weight Loss

Medical weight loss is weight management based on medical scientific evidence that targets the root causes of obesity and weight gain. Trained physicians and medical providers provide the treatment and guidance necessary to help achieve weight loss and maintain it for life.  The Healthy Weight and Wellness Clinic’s medical weight loss program combines medical supervision by trained physicians, nurse practitioners, licensed counselors and dieticians to design an effective weight loss plan.  The plan includes diet, exercise, wellness coaching, and when necessary, medication. 

Bariatric Surgery

Some people benefit greatly from weight loss surgery, or bariatric surgery.  There are several different types of weight loss surgery, each slightly different, but all providing the same outcome- weight loss. Include types of surgery with descriptions.

Dieticians are a great resource throughout a weight loss journey.  Dieticians are experts at designing meal plans for weight loss, as well as developing diet plans to help manage specific conditions, like diabetes or high blood pressure. 

Weight loss is a physical and emotional journey. Counselors are an important part of that journey. Counselors screen and help manage conditions like depression and anxiety, and can also help patients who have had a history of eating disorders.  Counselors help patients develop a healthy relationship with their changing body and the foods that nourish it. 

Wellness coaches keep patients accountable.  Wellness coaching is designed to give patients a partner to help them set and reach goals that are specific, manageable, attainable, reasonable and time sensitive.  Wellness coaches will review food and exercise logs with patients and check in with them on their road to progress.      

Sports Medicine Physicians evaluate patients assess any current or past injuries, as well as mobility issues. These specially trained doctors help patients learn to re-train their body through a series of prescribed exercises tailored to their exact needs.  

Physical Therapy/Fitness Coaches work with patients on a regular basis to develop exercise and mobility plans. And monitor intensity and duration of exercises to ensure consistent and safe results.
